Catching up...

So I haven't been blogging as often as I normally do, due to an unusually busy January and February. But now everything is back to normal and life can go on. =) And now I have to fill you in on a couple of things we've done recently.

First, many thanks to Mrs. Fruchey, (Summer's mom) who made the class Valentine cookies. Check out her handy work below:

Then another fabulous mom, Mrs. Muhlbauer (Amelia's mom), shared one of their family's Chinese New Year traditions with us - making jiao zi ( chinese dumplings). She read the class a Chinese New Year book, then she showed them how to make the dumplings. Students used Play-doh that Mrs. Muhlbauer scented with ginger and garlic to make it more like real dumplings. So clever! Lastly, we got to try real dumplings that Mrs. Muhlbauer cooked up for us in our classroom! Students had a blast creating their 'jiao zi', tasting it, and learning about Chinese New Year from Amelia and her mom.
