Today we reviewed our story for this week, The Bravest Cat, by working in teams to create summary sentences for the beginning, middle, and end of the story. First, each group was assigned a part of the story (beginning, middle, or end). Next, each student in the group had to write their own sentence for that part of the story. Then, the group came together to share ideas. Last, they had to work together to come up with a summary sentence that incorporated everyone's ideas but also stuck to just the important parts of the story! They did a wonderful job - here is their great work:
Sorry that's hard to read - it says, "Scarlett got a new home and someone bott (bought - haha) her."
Your child can practice this at home by writing sentences/phrases about the beginning, middle, and end of the stories they read at home. They LOVE to write on sticky notes - it's the little things in life!
