We've started guided reading groups -
here is one group doing a rhyming activity.
Working on context clues before
playing "Show Me" with short vowel words.
One reading activity that students can do while Mrs. Day is teaching guided reading groups is "Read to Someone".
We worked on showing addition
and subtraction facts with manipulatives.
While exploring our sense of sight, students watched each other's pupils when the lights when out and came back on. You should have seen and heard the amazement...priceless!
We used our sense of hearing to match the sounds each item made. We used our "white hat thinking" to gather what we knew about each item to help determine the sound each one would make when we shook the canister. They only got sunflower seeds and cheerios mixed up - very impressive!
We practiced math facts by drawing pictures, also!
They LOVE to use whiteboards. It's the little things in life!
Students used their "sniffers" to guess and match smells.
They did a great job!
Great team work and discussion here!
So proud of their work!
